RSE DIALOGO ENTRE LIDERES EN EL SALVADOR

 

El Salvador Diálogo entre líderes para lograr el desarrollo El Salvador está trabajando en diferentes acciones para la implementación de programas de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial, a fin de fomentar un mayor crecimiento en la economía, lograr ser competitivos y enfrentar los retos de la globalización. Eso lo reconoce Patrick Fagan, experto y principal conferencista durante el lanzamiento de la fundación EMPREPAS, pero insistió en que el punto de partida es el diálogo entre líderes de Gobierno, empresas y empleados, para conocer las verdaderas necesidades del sector que permite el desarrollo de un país: los trabajadores. ¿Qué acciones deben emprender los sectores para fomentar la productividad a través de RSE? El Salvador ya empezó a hacer lo suyo, las iniciativas están dándose y eso significa que hay productividad creciendo y voluntad de las personas en reunirse y resolver los problemas. Pero debe haber mucho diálogo, diálogo y más diálogo para conocer las necesidades de los trabajadores. ¿Qué programas debe implementar el Gobierno para apoyar a la iniciativa? Al Gobierno no le compete educar, da los fondos, que es su trabajo, pero tiene que fomentar el diálogo para conocer las necesidades reales de la gente, porque puede ser que establezca programas de guarderías, pero no es eso lo que necesitan las madres para poder trabajar y contar con un ingreso familiar. Tal vez ellas necesitan tiempo para dedicarle a la familia y fortalecerla, que es al final lo que se necesita para que un país crezca. Pero insisto, no es responsabilidad del Gobierno. ¿Entonces de quién es, es del sector empresarial? Es un trabajo conjunto. La empresa debe permitir el desarrollo de un ambiente familiar interno, pero de lo que se trata es de fortalecer a las familias para que se desarrollen como buenos trabajadores, y eso se logra con el trabajo conjunto de todos los sectores. Entonces, ¿qué acciones debe emprender el empleador para fomentar que los trabajadores sean productivos? Cada empresa debe hablar con sus trabajadores, sus supervisores y jefes, pero en especial con la gente que está al frente de la labor, aquellos que reciben un ingreso más bajo. Debe saber escuchar las necesidades, porque es de allí que el dueño de la empresa identificará las soluciones que quiere conocer para que su empresa sea competitiva. ¿Pero entonces se trata de que los trabajadores expresen sus necesidades? Absolutamente, porque al conocer las necesidades de los trabajadores, se logra que ellos estén satisfechos y así sean productivos. Tal vez no se puedan arreglar las cosas de forma inmediata, pero hay que entender que se trata de ganar-ganar. No se trata de crear expectativas, sino de crear confianza y tener voluntad. ¿En qué proporciones crece un país cuando hay trabajadores satisfechos y productivos? No se puede decir cuánto ni cuándo, porque puede tomar cinco, 10, 20 ó 30 años. Lo que importa es que siempre hay algo que hacer para seguir creciendo y escalando cada vez más. Hay países que pueden ser muy ricos y productivos, pero a la larga enfrentarán problemas económicos porque no se ha fortalecido la base, que es la familia. Esos son los casos de países como Rusia y Estados Unidos, que tienen problemas en el forjamiento de las familias y que no fueran tan fuertes si no llegaran, por ejemplo, tantos salvadoreños que apoyan la productividad del país. ¿Es decir que si no hubiera emigración, El Salvador fuera más productivo? Sin duda, las compañías podrían ser más productivas, pero aquí viene nuevamente el trabajo que se debe hacer en conjunto con otras instituciones: los parlamentos deben establecer buenas leyes y luchar por su cumplimiento, las escuelas deben educar y las familias fortalecer la sociedad. Con esto, las empresas fueran beneficiadas en el tema de contratación de personal, y así, al mismo tiempo, se fomenta la reducción del crimen y la violencia. (La Prensa Gráfica) Febrero de 2007
